Sturgis Area Arts Council will proudly continue the performance of Christmas music at its 45th Annual Community Christmas Concert on Sunday, December 8th, at 2:00pm. For these many years, church musicians – both bell ringers and song singers – have gathered for this enjoyable community event. The Chapel Bells from First Presbyterian will open the concert, followed by lovely Christmas pieces performed by our local church choirs.
Barry Furze, this year’s combined choir director, has invited instrumentalists from the area to accompany the mass choir number, “Sing Your Praise to God on High,” by Lloyd Larson. This medley is an exciting ending to the concert. With the combination of the many voices and instrumentalists, it will prove to be an audience favorite.
Schedule this event on your calendar, as you won’t want to miss this joyful concert. And to make the day even sweeter, the Meade Music Boosters will host a fundraiser at the Sturgis Brown High School later in the afternoon. High School and Middle School bands and choirs will perform Christmas favorites from 4:00-7:00pm while the audience enjoys a fantastic dessert buffet. Come support our local school performers.
