DESCRIPTION:Mark your calendar for the 2024 Sturgis Volksmarch: Savoring the Centennial! \nSturgis Volksmarches have been around for over 40 years! This year\, hikers can enjoy an easy-to-moderate hike on the beautiful Centennial Trail through lands just southeast of Fort Meade. \nParticipants will start at the Alkali Creek Campground and traverse the well-maintained\, single-track Centennial Trail through sweeping grasslands and foothills. The hike will loop back to the campground\, with optional short add-on loops and a kid-friendly nature path if desired. \nDATE: Saturday\, June 15th 2024\nSTART POINT: Alkali Creek Campground\nSTART TIME: 8:00 – 11:00 AM\nFINISH TIME: 2:00 PM\nDISTANCE: Combination (about 7.5k)\nTRAIL RATING: Moderate\nFEES: $4.00 Volkssport Association Fee (per hiker)\nVOLKSSPORT MEMBER AWARDS: IVV Credit \nDIRECTIONS: From I-90\, take Exit 34 and turn north onto Old Stone Road. Drive half a mile on the gravel road\, then turn right into the Alkali Creek Campground parking area.
