The South Dakota Humanities Council has chosen “Little and Often”, by Trent Preszler, as the One Book South Dakota for 2024.
Molly Barari, a South Dakota Humanities Council scholar, will be leading the discussion of this book in the Sturgis Public Library’s Community Room on Friday, September 10th, at 7:00pm.
Preszler grew up between Faith and Lemmon here in South Dakota. He wrote the story of his journey of grief and loss while using inherited tools to build a wooden canoe. Harper Collins found it “an unflinching account of bereavement and a stirring reflection on the complexities of inheritance.”
The books will be available to borrow at the Sturgis Public Library in mid-August. If you have questions, please contact Dorothy Pulscher at dapulscher@gmail.com.
